Since our founding in 2022, we have been on a mission to tackle society’s toughest challenges by supporting startups, fostering bold solutions, and empowering a new generation of thinkers. Our goal is to cultivate minds capable of seeing opportunities where none exist and creating solutions that transform communities.
Kundima was founded by Thinkertation in 2023 as an educational research institute. Its name, from the Shona word meaning “to cultivate a field,” reflects its purpose : cultivating minds and systems through research, innovation, and digital tools that empower educators and prepare learners to thrive in a changing world.

Kundima Labs was launched in February 2025 as an initiative of Kundima, extending its mission to reimagine education through research and experimentation. It serves as a living testbed not a traditional classroom where new ideas in teaching, learning, and technology are developed, tested, and refined. Every project and activity is part of an ongoing exploration of what truly prepares learners for a complex, evolving world.
Kundima Labs exists to question conventions, explore possibilities, and shape the future of education.
Building for the future is like constructing a house or a skyscraper: it begins with a clear design, followed by a deep, solid foundation. The strength of what stands tomorrow depends on what is built beneath the surface today. Without preparation and purpose, even the greatest vision can fall.
When we began in 2022, the vision was bold but undefined, a collection of ideas, energy, and purpose without a clear structure to sustain it. Like builders without a blueprint, we were inspired but unanchored, learning through exploration and experience.
By mid-2025, the vision began to take shape. We started to lay a strong foundation, clarifying our purpose, defining our direction, and aligning every effort with a long-term blueprint for growth and impact.
We now build with intention, rooted in the wisdom of Matthew 7:24-27, to be like the wise builder who laid his house upon the rock. The rains may fall, the winds may blow, but what is founded on truth, faith, and purpose will stand firm.
